The IMSD Scholars, 19 Fellows and 7 Apprentices, recently returned from the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in Indianapolis, Indiana. 17 IMSD Fellows presented research posters at the huge national conference along with over 2,200 other students from around the country from November 13-17th.
Senior IMSD Fellow & Peer Mentor James Ball and Junior IMSD Fellow Paxton Kostos were both selected for Outstanding Research Presentation Awards in their scientific discipline categories at Saturday night’s awards banquet. Only 319 of the 2,200 presentations were selected for awards and this is MU IMSD’s eighth consecutive year taking home Outstanding Presentation Awards. James’ faculty mentor at MU is Jaume Padilla in Nutrition & Exercise Physiology and Paxton’s mentor is Antje Heese in the Biochemistry department.
Congratulations James & Paxton!!
